Bartholomew Cubbins on Autism Episode 4: Welcome to NotMercury.blogspot.com (mov)

Watch the Video (pops)

A big welcome to a new blogger to join the ranks of those interested in autism discussion and research.

For smaller (3GP) files and to watch it by downloading rather than streaming, go to the source, right-mouse-click, and have fun!

500 hats off to you BC. The more "thinkers" and peers encouraged to stick to science and reality, the better for all autistic children. Great demonstration of approximately .0000000001% of the non-scientific garbage that pervades the web regarding autism. Hats off to NotMercury as well.

thanks DoC - after watching your guy there with the piano I was reminded that a casio/radioshack keyboard with light-up keys had caught my eye last december. For ~100bucks new, the keyboard will cue the player with lights inside the key. The thing plugs into the TV or computer so you can play along with a "bouncing ball on the words" type thing that was in the old cartoons. Anyway, I thought our guy might get into it and I thought I'd share that. Nothing like lights and sound! Hope all is well. I was thrilled at your latest post and dismayed but thoroughly unsurprised by the doc's answers. I wish he would have surprised me but oh well.

Dear Mr. Cubbins,
I apologize for my tardy response but I just now figured out how to play the video. Guess I'm more of a Windows person.

Thank you very much for the warm welcome to the world of blogging (is there a better name for it) and for the video coverage. I feel like I made the 6:00 news hour.

I thought long and hard about my decision to "come out" with my story and to remain somewhat anonymous. I was fortunate to receive some excellent advice from a few fellow parents with more wisdom and experience than myself.

I look forward to meeting other parents and hearing more stories like my own.

You are so right about the difficulties of how to sort through all of the information on the internet. Sometimes it feels like there are vast corporate interests directing advertisement toward parents of children with autism. Nice to know there are folks out there to help with the science, or lack of, behind all the treatments.
